The ship of a tempura restaurant

The Japanese-style cruise which enjoys tempura and sake

天ぷらとお酒を楽しむ屋形船

It is a houseboat which built a ship in order that a samurai might enjoy a meal in a ship at the peaceful Edo period. 

 

In a ship, many people enjoy themselves together with tempura and sake, looking at sakura and fireworks. 

 

Although the strict class system existed those days, it developed as amusement which a samurai and a townsman can enjoy together. 


平和な江戸時代に、

侍が、船の中で食事を楽しむために造船されたのが屋形船。

船の中では、桜や花火を見ながら、大勢で天ぷらと酒を楽しむ。

当時、厳格な身分制度を越えて、武士と町民が一緒に楽しめる娯楽として発展したのです。
