The lovely owl which lives in Hokkaido

Ezo-Fukuro　エゾフクロウ

Ezo-Fukuro is a Japanese owl which inhabits Hokkaido.

The indigenous people of Hokkaido worship them as "God of hunting."  Because, the indigenous people have the tradition "if you go to the direction that a Ezo-Fukuro cries, you will meet a bear there." 

 

Ezo-Fukuro has a very charming face. And they are also called "philosopher (wise man) in woods." 

 

Probably, you are a captive of their very lovely behavior, when you find them in the beautiful scene of Hokkaido. 

 

エゾフクロウは、北海道に生息する日本フクロウ。「エゾフクロウの鳴き声の方へ行くと、熊が出る」という伝説から、北海道の先住民族は、彼らを「猟運の神様」として崇めている。エゾフクロウは、とても愛くるしい顔をもっている。また、彼らは「森の哲学者（賢人）」とも言われている。北海道の美しい景色の中で彼らを見つけたら、あなたは、そのかわいらしい仕草の虜になってしまうでしょう。
